  • Hives are common. Anyone can get them.
  • Often it goes away in 24 hours or less. New hives may appear as old ones fade, so hives may last for a few days or longer
  • Hives often result from an allergy, but they can have many other causes like infections, certain medicine, sunlight exposure, stress, exercise, pressure on the skin or scratching
  • Hives can be a sign of an internal disease.
  • To find out what is causing your hives, our doctor will review your health history and do a physical exam. You may also need the allergy tests, blood testing or skin biopsy
