Generally it caused by an overgrowth of certain structure in the skin. Overgrowth of blood vessels will results in vascular birthmarks; an overgrowth of pigment cells will causes moles.

Wounds/ulcers commonly caused by infections, venous disease, arterial disease, friction/trauma or a combination of the above.

Varicose veins are large, raised, swollen blood vessels that twist and turn. Spider veins are smaller, red, purple, and blue vessels that also twist and turn.
